At Woodfines, we believe in giving our trainee solicitors the flexibility and autonomy to work directly with clients on live matters as soon as possible. This provides a real-life, hands-on experience from, often, an early point in your training career.
Trainees also benefit from a formal mentoring system with a Partner throughout their training. We welcome applications from bright, enthusiastic and committed individuals wanting to work in our offices.
How to apply
The current training contract application period has closed, we will be accepting new applications for 2022 between 01/01/2021 and 31/05/2021.
“My training with Woodfines has been thoroughly enjoyable, eye-opening, at times difficult (well it isn’t supposed to be a walk in the park!), but also extremely rewarding. The balance of independence and supervision is excellent, as is the work-life balance.”
The firm is dedicated to giving you the best training possible across a broad range of areas and also providing you with the tools needed to become a qualified solicitor.
What does a training contract involve?
Trainees usually undertake four seats in a mixture of contentious and non-contentious practice areas. The fact that a number of the current and former partners completed their training with Woodfines shows that starting a career at the firm could well lead to greater rewards.
“I began my training with the firm in September 2009, and qualified in September 2011. I thoroughly enjoyed my training which gave me the opportunity I needed to experience different areas of law and to make a reasoned choice in which area I wished to practice as a qualified solicitor.
The work I did during my training contract also reinforced my view that I wanted to work for a firm like Woodfines as a qualified solicitor. When Woodfines then offered me a position post-qualification, I was delighted because I felt that it was a firm where I could progress and reach my full potential as a solicitor.
I am now 4 years post-qualified and a Senior Associate. The support given to trainees and newly qualified solicitors is of a high standard and I would certainly recommend Woodfines to those looking for a training contract, as well as those wanting to progress their careers.”
